Description: Very collectible solid oak spool cabinet by J&P Coats. Originally used to display thread and sewing supplies in country stores in the 1800s.Shaped like a miniature chest of drawers. Great patina. On either side of the drawers are details carvings and fancy mill work.Overall, the cabinet is in great condition. It has expected wear all around. Some rings on the top surface. Great, rich oak patina. There is a veneer panel on the rear reading "J.&P. Coats Best Six Cord 200 YDS 50" - note the veneer is cracked and not glued to the subsurface, although it is held in place by the oak frame. This can be preserved.5 of the drawer pulls are original. Drawers feature small finger joint construction. This is an interesting piece of history and will make a great addition to any decor. Listing as local pickup. Buyer may coordinate shipping if desired. We will help as we can.
