The standby timer will turn off the lights and put the machine in sleep mode if it's not used within a certain amount of time. The standby timer can be set from 1 to 30 minutes, and starting any operation will turn the lights and screen on again. Auto-off will shut your machine down if it's not used within a specific time period. The auto-off can be set from 1 to 12 hours. Both of these timers can be disengaged if you don't need/want them.
