Shigaraki frogs are a type of Japanese pottery figurine that originated in the village of Shigaraki, Japan. They are known for their auspicious meaning, which is said to include "greeting" and "returning successfully". Measures approx 4" X 3.5" The figurine is in good vintage condition there is some light chipping along bottom edges to the glaze paint . There are a few small white speckles on the back of the frog. We did not attempt to clean or remove. Looks like paint speckles not chips. Please review pictures. There are a few chips or missing spots of paint along bottom edge.
