Description: Jim Walker Firebaby Airplane - Attention Collectors - Very Early Production Version Note "Firebaby" decal on wing. When Jim Walker conceived the "Firebaby" he used a wooden fuselage and the Wing from the Pursuit rubber powered plane. He then added a "decal" to the Pursuit wing with the "Firebaby" logo. Subsequent production had the logo printed on the wing. This Very Early Firebaby was well used, flown and shows cracks and dents. But a Very Rare addition to your collection. Please see all photos. Note: The Original Jim Walker Airplanes were made in Portland, Oregon and are made from balsa wood painted RED.The name "Firebaby" is printed on the wings. (Except for the very first production run, they used a decal as above) Jim Walker's company was called "AJ" for American Junior.The words "AJ Aircrarft"" and "Portland Oregon" are printed on the Tail Stabilizer of an "Original" Firebaby. In 1963 the PACTRA Chemical Company absorbed the American Junior company . Later the company was again sold to Sturdi-Built Model Mfg., Boise, Idaho 83705, their fuselage is made from plastic and uses left over stock wings. The word PLASTIC was added to the lower right corner of the front of the box. And the name Sturdi-Built Model Mfg. is also printed on the lower right corner of the Assembly instructions.
