Chrysalis I chose to develop the chrysalis into a unique jewellery design that is commercially viable and visually appealing. My quest was to capture the essence of this special point of metamorphosis - the physical transition from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.To me, the chrysalis is a beautiful metaphor, a womb of creativity that reminds me that it's not as important what I do for a living, but rather who I am in my life. About meAfter graduating from Elam School of Fine Arts, my exploration for the best way to interpret the ideas I have about myself and the world around us drew me to the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. The self-nourishment of my feminine creativity and my affinity for using natural materials started my search for the perfect medium, which I discovered within the stone. My main motivation is the search for a life-enabling my creativity to flow freely and to connect myself with the surrounding environment. I delight in the stones material qualities and the act of being physically involved in each and every one of my pieces. I take my playing very seriously, especially being conscious of the importance of selling a piece that has integrity.
