Description: I've been reading Tolkien since I was in grammar school, so I picked this set up at some point to add to my collection. But honestly, I prefer my old well-worn copies. Whoever owned this before me just read The Hobbit and doesn't seem to have continued with the trilogy. Poor soul. You can tell because the spine of The Hobbit has some creases and rest are pristine. The box has some wear as does the spine of The Fellowship of the Ring. Be the first to crack those open or leave them for a future generation. This set is by Ballantine and commemorates the 50th anniversary.
