Jazz composers are represented by Horace Silvers swinging Silvers Serenade, Charles Mingus blues Nostalgia In Times Square and Bobby Timmons popular minor opus Moanin. Played in a Latin mode, the standard The Night Has A Thousand Eyes completes the set. The two master musicians obviously inspire one another. They manage to sound like a big band at times, playing deftly arranged lines on Moanin, a classical duo on Larrys idiomatic Oil And Water, and swinging virtuosos on everything. DUALITY is a feast for the head and the heart, for the mind and the soul. Both sublime and accessible, it is a gift from two musical wizards.
