Description: VERY RARE custom-made ROYAL GIFTfrom PRINCE CHARLES (now KING) to one of his personal staffat St. James's Palace A very rare opportunity to acquire an item with an impeccable royal provenance, that was a personal gift from HRH Prince Charles, the future King of England. This ebonized and gilt tray has a copy of one of Prince Charles's own watercolors set beneath the glass base. The watercolor is of Lochnagar on the royal estate at Balmoral in Scotland, and is 7.5" x 12". The overall size of the wooden tray is 15" x 22". This very rare tray was made exclusively for Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales and was presented as a Christmas gift to one of the Prince of Wales's important personal staff members at St. James's Palace. (disclosed only to the buyer) With the tray is a handwritten and SIGNED card of thanks from the Prince of Wales bearing the embossed Royal Garter with the Prince of Wales's feathers inside. The tray is made of ebonized hardwood with a glazed base to the tray. It is in very good, undamaged condition, with only some rubbing to the gilt edging. We also provide a detailed Certificate of Provenance giving details of the recipient of this special gift. This information is only given to the buyer. The Provenance certificate is signed by Keith Lawson, a recognized expert in the UK. It is rare to find a royal gift with such a well-documented provenance, including an original handwritten note from Prince Charles.
