The Memorial for Loyalty to the Fatherland in 1915, popularly known as the Albanian Memorial, is a one-level state military and civilian decoration that was awarded to all members of the Serbian army who retreated through Albania in the winter of 1915/1916. It was established on April 5, 1920 by the decree of the Crown Prince-Regent Aleksandar I Karađorđević in the then already new state of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. On the obverse there is a left profile of the commander-in-chief of the Serbian army, Regent Alexander I, and around him there is a circular inscription "to his war comrades Alexander", around the inscription there is a laurel wreath and a silver double-headed eagle with a crown, and on the reverse there is an inscription "for loyalty to the fatherland" . The medal is worn on a light green ribbon with black stripes along the edge. The commemorative medal is a low-ranking honorary award, but it has its own historical weight, because it is awarded on anniversaries and jubilees to all participants of an event. The first copy of the monument was attached to the king's chest on August 17, 1921. In January 1922, it was announced that the monuments had been handed over to all municipalities through the military district commands, and that they would be issued in Belgrade "immediately." In February, it was announced that five thousands of citizens, four thousand of whom received the monument and the rest were deleted because they have no right to it; the application deadline has been extended until April.
