(The K proceeding the serial number indicates that this projector required a projection filter, a compensator, and a special Kodacolor aluminum screen to project Kodak’s then-new Kodacolor color movie film.) It includes its original projection lens, power cord, carrying case, a Kodak 400’ take up reel, a bottle of Kodascope lubricating oil, an oil can, an extra lamp, and a Kodak 16mm film splicing kit. Appearing five years after Kodak first introduced 16mm safety film for amateur use, the Model B was Kodak’s first self-threading projector. It could also run the film backwards and had a still-picture device. A truly deluxe projector for its time, its mirror and condenser lens system lit the gate at a right angle to the lamp. There were rheostat controls for the lamp and motor, on-off and forward-reverse switches, etc. This nice example comes from a non-smoking household and is being sold “as is.” We have not attempted to plug it in and turn it on, but it appears to be complete, and it shouldn’t take too much effort to restore it to a museum quality display piece that looks like it just left the factory.
