Description: This is an oil painting (on Upsom Panel) of a nude art model in Los Angeles in the 1950’s. It was painted by Albert Londraville (1922-2015). He studied under the famous Russian American Master, Nicolai Fechin, and was a MGM scenic artist who painted movie backdrops. Albert also studied at the Lukits’ Academy of Fine Arts and often painted on site (plein air). This painting was purchased directly from the successor trustee for the Albert Londraville Trust. It does not include the artist’s signature on the front but rather includes the artist stamp “Londraville A. J.” on back of painting, which artist frequently did. The painting has been professionally cleaned and varnished. It is 30” x 24” (40 1/2” x 34 1/2” framed). Of the nearly 50 nudes I have by Londraville, this is the largest and by far the most impressive. Londraville chose a large and impressive frame with an antique gold fillet (liner) to showcase the painting. An outstanding painting that features Londraville at his best.
