Description: yoder27 Here is a nice vintage, Blown In Mold (BIM), amber, medicine bottle, with double ring collar, embossed The Oakland Chemical Comp'y ** and inside this embossed circle is: OC (in the shape of an atom circling a xxx) and H2 O2. This is the scientific name for Hydrogen Peroxide, formerly known as Dioxogen). This company was located in the greater New York area. This is the largest size that I believe this bottle comes in, approx 12.5" tall. You don't see many of these large examples, if you see this bottle, it is typically found in much smaller sizes. The headquarters of the Oakland Chemical Company was in the New York City region, moving from Brooklyn to Manhattan and Staten Island. This product most likely would have been found in a household along with other medicines intended to treat ailments. The bottle likely contained what was known as dioxygen or previously, Oakland hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide was marketed as being safe for oral consumption, although today we know it should not be consumed and likely would have burned the throats of people who drank it. Condition: Very nice, NO chips, cracks or dings. Just some light wear from use, minor. I grade this one an 8.5 to 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. See pictures above for details.
