His works include sports, entertainment, travel, African animals and iconic celebrities. LeRoy Nieman's art can be found in the permanent collections at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C, The Hermitage in Leningrad, The Whitney Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, and many more. During his lifetime he was awarded 5 honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Southern California. He died at the age of 91 in 2012 in New York City.
