Description: From Wikipedia: "L'Illustration was a weekly French newspaper published in Paris from 1843 to 1944. It was founded by Édouard Charton with the first issue published on 4 March 1843, it became the first illustrated newspaper in France then, after 1906, the first international illustrated magazine; distributed in 150 countries." This listing is for the May 8, 1937, featuring a cover of a photo of a nude by Alfred Giess. This is a "Le Salon De Peinture", or, The Painting Salon, edition. The magazine is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, with bright covers with a bit of soiling, light wear to edges and spine. The initial Painting Salon section was unpaginated - including the title page, it ran to 16 pages. Then pagination began on p. 41 and went to page 56. There is light foxing on glossy paginated pages, and there was a bit of stickiness in these glossy pages. The pages were separated with a small loss of paper. GREAT INTERIOR PHOTOS AND ILLUSTRATIONS.
