Lot of 11 Little Leather Library Books-Jekyll & Hyde-Whitman-Whittier-Barrie + 7

Description: Offered is this lot of 11 small antique Little Leather Library books. Ten of the books have embossed flexible green covers and one, "Without Benefit of Clergy and Other Tales", by Rudyard Kipling, has a smooth red cover. The ten others include: 1) Pelleas and Melisande"-Maeterlinck; 2) "Memories of President Lincoln"-Walt Whitman; 3) "Snow-Bound and Other Poems"-John Greenleaf Whittier; 4) "A Tillyloss Scandal"-J. M. Barrie; 5) "Fifty Best Poems of America"-Various; 6) "Fifty Best Poems of England"-Various 7) "Pippa Passes"-Robert Browning and three by Robert Louis Stevenson-8) "Will O' The Mill and Markheim"; 9) "A Child's Garden of Verse" and 10) "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". Although none show a publishing date, this series of books was produced from approx. 1916 to 1923. Each of the green books is approx. 4" x 3", with the red one about 3 3/4" x 3". Their conditions range from fair to good. The covers have moderate wear; the most damage is to #5 (narrow strip missing from front), #6 (approx. 1/4 of the back cover at bottom missing) and #7 (narrow strip missing from back). The three Stevenson books are in better condition, BUT they are stuck to each other; it may or may not be possible to separate them but I haven't tried for fear of damaging the covers. The cover of the red book is somewhat soiled and blotchy and has a bent lower back corner. Inside things look better. I obviously haven't looked at every page but after some quick look-throughs I see no missing pages and only an occasional small tear. The pages of most books are well-attached to the covers but #6 and #7 are disconnected from their covers (although the pages are connected to each other). The first and last pages have browned heavily but in most cases the rest of the pages have only slight browning. A few books have some writing at the beginning or the end but I don't see any writing within the bodies of the books. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
