Description: Maddox Goddard Townsend (Newport) Vintage SOLID WOOD Dark Cherry Block Front Secretary Desk. Was purchased new in 1971 from Maddox Furniture Co. from Jamestown, NY. It is a reproduction of an 18th century piece originally created in Newport, RI. In excellent used condition with original finish. Has a few nicks on the desk top from use, but does not detract from appearance of the piece. Back of desk has 12 drawers, four open slots, a closed compartment with carved wood door, and two secret pull out panels behind small columns on either side of the door large enough to hold a passport, paper currency, or other small items you may wish to conceal from view.
