Description: This listing is for a Marantz 2252 Stereophonic Receiver in excellent cosmetic and working condition. The clear plastic faceplate protector that was in place when the unit was first shipped is still present and will be included. Rated at 52 watts/channel at 8 Ω. It features Pre-Out/Main-In rear RCA jacks which allow simple use of a graphic equalizer or other sound processor. The Power Supply/Tone Pre-Amp/Phono and Amplifier Board have had electrolytic capacitors replaced with quality Nichicon materials. All lamps have been replaced with LED’s for long-life and cool operation. It has been tested, serviced and is working. A copy of the Owner’s Manual will be included. The following outline covers the testing/service work done: · All speaker connections have been tested and are working, both right and left channels. · The tuner was tested using a simple wire antenna attached. AM/FM stations were received as expected across the radio dial. The dial pointer lamp was replaced with a warm white LED. · Tape 1, Tape 2 and Aux inputs and outputs were tested and function as expected. · Phono input was tested and functions as expected. · Headphone jack was tested and is working. · All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate Deox-It formula. · The faceplate, dial scale and all knobs were removed, cleaned and hand polished. · The Stereo indicator was replaced with a red LED style lamp. · All Meter and Radio Dial lamps were replaced with Warm White 360 diffused LED lamps. · The light-diffusing Velum paper behind the radio dial was replaced for color clarity. · The Power Supply, Amplifier, Tone/Pre-amp and Phono Boards were re-capped for improved reliability. · All original output transistors were present. They were removed, checked, cleaned and re-installed with fresh heat transfer compound. · Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to improve appearance. · The foam cushioning used on the underside of the metal top was replaced to ensure a better fit. · Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws were replaced. · The power cord was cleaned and inspected. · All feet were inspected and replaced as needed. · Power Supply Voltage, DC Offset and Idle Current adjustments were set to factory specification. · Watts/channel was checked using a Peak and RMS Output Meter to meet/exceed model specs. · A final extended use test was performed to ensure functionality.
