This is a new reproduction Marlin 1897, 97, and 39 (not the 39A) pistol grip tang screw for the early production rifles. All parts sold must be checked, installed, and assembled by a qualified and competent gunsmith as some components may or may not require fitting depending on the tolerances allowed by the manufacturer, vintage, and potential re-manufacturer (if an aftermarket piece).
