Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Mergulhador Skin Diver, a reincarnation of the vintage, original Merghulador dive watch, first introduced by Mathey-Tissot in the 1970s. This rare and super-cool diver was originally designed and produced for both military and civilian use in the Portuguese market. The Mathey-Tissot Merghulador (Merghulador in Portuguese translates to "diver" in English) has, over the years, become a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts of vintage dive watches. It has a certain Algarve and Portuguese seaside flair with the beautiful colors, gradient or fume dial and impressive water resistance.The amber dial of the Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Mergulhador is, in fact, inspired by a watch from William Massena's personal collection and is exclusive to this collaboration with Massena LAB.The Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Mergulhador features a brown fumé dial with orange indices and rich, white plots of lume for its hour markers, and date at three o'clock. Its rotating bezel has black minute markings, Arabic numerals, and a luminous triangle. These sold out within minutes and frankly you are unlikely to run across one "in the wild" at your fancy restaurant, at work or at a party. The condition of this watch is as follows: Pre-owned in excellent condition. I would rate this cool timepiece at 98%+. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include: 1. With a thickness of only 12.8mm and a modern classic 41mm case size, this is a great unisex watch that works well on virtually any wrist size. For an average sized man's wrist this is a perfect modern sizing. On a female wrist, the oversized look will be striking. If one's color palette of clothing is into tans and neutrals, then this is a great one-watch contender. On the black strap, you are good to go with black t-shirt, black jeans or black leather jacket... which is how I occassionally wear this one. This awesome and rare timepieces is ideally suited for a wrist between 6+1/2 to 7+3/4 inches but will work up to about an 8 inch wrist with nice proportions.2. The watch is powered by the self-winding Sellita caliber 200, with 28,800 half oscillations per hour (4 Hz), 36 hours of power reserve, and 26 jewels. It is a reliable Swiss Made automatic timepiece that will prove durable and enjoyable for years to come.3. Let's not bury the lead. This is a beautiful dial timepiece which has that always in style kind or retro dive aesthetic. One of the best looking dials to see at under $2K. Very nice lume as well. Check out the lume shot photos (the last three pictures)! I tried to show the lume after a quick outdoor charge of light for about a minute and then in normal interior lighting, transitioning in a hall way and then in full dark using a closet.4. Between the black tropic ubber diving strap, and one brown leather strap provide two distinct strap options depending on your activity and color palette preference.5. In terms of functionality, one gets a traditional three hand set-up with a date complication. A screw-in solid caseback (engraved nicely) speaks to the engineering aspects of this one --- 200m water resistance. Go ahead and enjoy this one around water!6. A box mineral glass with anti-reflective, sapphire coating brings great legibility while giving off that vintage, distorted look when viewed from an angle. This is a cool design aspect that is highly desirable for these kind of retro-inspired modern diving timepieces.7. Rounding out the listing are the great collateral items that you see in the "everything picture." (Picture #2) I think the storage box is particularly well done. Leave that one out on the desk, nightstand or on top of the dresser drawer. We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation.
