Description: This listing is for the low profile or small chassis McIntosh solid-state power amplifier in perfect operating condition with plenty of power to drive most any speaker system available. Tested this year into 6 ohm loads: 74 watts RMS, both channels driven, 20Hz to 20KHz, before “Power Guard” is triggered. In the past 12 months, the following was performed & parts installed:- New front glass ordered direct from McIntosh Laboratory, Binghamton, NY & installed.- New speaker relay, replacement part, from McIntosh Laboratory, Binghamton, NY & installed. During front glass installation, performed the following modification:- Replaced original incandescent front panel light bulbs with high-intensity pure white LEDs.- Added voltage AC to DC converter circuit to transform the 5.3VAC used by the incandescent bulbs to 6.3VDC (smooth DC) resulting in reduced front glass panel heat verses the incandescent bulbs. Excluding the described parts replacements & glass panel illumination modification, this MC 502 appears to be 100% original when originally built at the factory. This listing includes the following items:- McIntosh MC 502 Power Amplifier, SN CE2471.- PDF file copies of MC 502 Owner’s Manual, Service Information & Information sheet. Condition:- Electrical performance is perfect, all controls & functions operate.- Background noise is non-audible, even with very efficient speakers.- New front panel glass, overall appearance is beautiful.- Exterior case has various minor scuffs, nicks, scratches & minor paint touch-up of top panel.
