Description: This week I'm offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. From 1971 to about 1977, a couple of enterprising comic strip fans published a weekly tabloid called the Menomonee Falls Gazette, devoted to keeping the daily newspaper adventure strip alive. Each issue printed a week's worth of daily strips of non-humorous strips, a genre that was rapidly disappearing by then. Fans of such then-current strips as Ben Casey, Johnny Hazard, the Phantom and others could keep up with new material. Many of these beautifully illustrated strips were running in only a handful of newspapers by then. The mixture is enhanced with a few English/Australian/classic reprint strips. This was a terrific publication for fans of newspaper strips! Here I have issue #47, dated November 6, 1972. Featured in this issue are: Garth, Johnny Hazard, Tarzan (from 1947), Modesty Blaise, Secret Agent Corrigan, Air Hawk, Rip Kirby, Jeff Hawke, On Stage, Ben Casey (by Neal Adams!), Tarzan (current), Ambler, Mandrake, Phantom, Dateline Danger!, James Bond, Flash Gordon, Superman (1941), and Jeff Cobb. This copy is in nice condition (see scans for condition). It's highly collectible. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping will be combined for multiple purchases.
