Description: Micromeritics Saturn DigiSizer LVLSHU 5200 Low Volume Liquid Sample Handling Unit A new Low-Volume Liquid Sample Handling Unit (LVLSHU) is available for the Saturn DigiSizer 5200 High Resolution Laser Particle Size Analyzer. The LVLSHU requires only 100 mL of liquid to transport the sample to the Saturn DigiSizer. This is only 20% of that required with the standard Saturn LSHU. The circulating pump of the LVLSHU can operate at flow rates of 2 to 12 L/min. Particles up to 750 µm in diameter can be analyzed. The LVLSHU reduces the cost of analysis by reducing the amount of dispersing liquid required, and consequently the amount of sample required. This also reduces the amount of waste disposal. Applications where the LVLSHU is well suited include those where sample quantity is limited, such as with research samples; those where the dispersion liquid quantity is limited or the liquid is expensive; and those where the dispersing liquid is hazardous to use or presents disposal problems. All Saturn DigiSizer units can operate with either the standard LSHU or LVLSHU. Conversion from one type to the other can be accomplished in a matter of minutes. Data obtained with both liquid systems should be essentially identical. The standard LSHU does use more sample, improving sampling statistics, so you can expect slightly better sample-to-sample reproducibility.
