Description: GENERAL DESCRIPTION: I recently purchased a used bookstore and an adjoining 1820s house in USNY. The previous owner is 98 years old and left numerous belongings behind for his transition to long-term care. While cleaning out the house, we found a wooden box with hundreds of antique / vintage printing plates and blocks. From some research, the majority appear to be from 1910-1940 with the majority being from the early 1930s. Most are brass, with some being copper, aluminum on wood, solid wood, solid lead, or brass-plated lead. The photos have been taken on a 1" x 1" grid to show size. ITEM SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION: Difficult to see: The handful of aluminum-on-wood blocks so have some corrosion. The two triangular pieces in the top left are the same (or very similar) and have very tiny type difficult to make out, but appear to either be cartography or geometry. The larger block top right says "RIBBONS FOR GIFT TYING" The SHIPPING Plates / blocks will be wrapped in foam blanketing and taped into bundles (or individually). These bundles will then be bagged. These bagged lots will be shipping in padded mailers or rigid cardboard boxes depending on weight. They will be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage.
