Monitaly by Yuki Matsuda yuketen Vancloth black pants, size 34

Description: Up for sale here is a very nice pair of pants from the Monitaly label, designed by Yuki Matsuda who also does the Yuketen brand. Where Yuketen is 100% made in the USA and based on traditional footwear silhouettes, Monitaly follows the same basic ethos with their clothing. Much like Engieered Garments and the Nepenthes family in Japan, Monitaly produces exclusively in the US, usually incorporating vintage and workwear elements into their designs. This is in no way a repro label though, their designs are totally new and unique. So this is Monitaly’s take on the classic khaki chino, done with some pretty distinct details. Material is Monitaly’s proprietary “vancloth” fabric. From what I gather, vancloth is supposed to mimic vintage military fabrics in that it is highly water repellent, similar to a ventile I suppose. It’s essentially a tightly woven cotton that naturally keeps out the wind and rain, yet remains a light weight material. Silhouette is pretty unique, with a relaxed and pleated top block. Rather than a belt loop closure the front has a tie around the waist. Legs are straight, although there is a slight taper toward the ankles. Rise is a bit longer than your typical chinos as well. Even though they’re manufactured exclusively in Los Angeles, Monitaly has surprisingly small distribution in the US (and pretty much everywhere else for that matter). This particular model is now sold out, but get it here at a very reasonable price. Size is labeled a 34 and fits true. I measure the waist at 34”, inseam at 30”, rise at 16” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 8”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in the USA.
