Description: Additional Information from InnerSleeve Product Description Mott The Hoople were one of the most celebrated British rock band of the 1970s, even though their popularity in their native England was short lived and they never quite broke through in the United States. Mott the Hoople fused hard rock guitar power, glam rock swagger and songs by leader Ian Hunter that were witty, articulate and deeply personal, undercutting the myths of rock & roll while still celebrating the joy of the music. Mott earned a powerful cult following, and they often cited as a major influence by a diverse variety of bands after their breakup in 1976. But no one expected Mott the Hoople to reform, especially not in 2009, when the members of the group were all over 60 (and Hunter was past 70). However, that's just what happened, as Hunter, Verden Allen, Dale Griffin, Mick Ralphs and Overend Watts took to the stage for five sold-out shows, and filmmakers Chris Hall and Mike Kerry look at the band's remarkable history as well as their surprising and moving reunion in the documentary THE BALLAD OF MOTT THE HOOPLE. The film received its world premiere at the 2010 BFI London Film Festival. About InnerSleeve We offer unbeatable prices, quick shipping times and a wide selection of vinyl.
