Description: Provenance: This book came from an auction of Tad Mosel’s personal library. Mosel is a Pulitzer-winning and Emmy-nominated dramatist, best known for his work on Up the Down Staircase and the Adams Chronicles. The first page of this book says: “To Grace Lawrence Taylor The Lady of Liberty Hall 1932 from Fitzroy K Davis” Fitzroy Davis was a writer best known for The Heat is On. The book includes a postcard asking if Tad had a copy of Mrs Bell, as well as a notecard which discusses the original inscription by Davis as well as other things. That correspondence was from author and bookstore owner Doris Abramson and her partner Dorothy Johnson (playwrite and author). It also includes a note to Tad from Gert (Gertrude Macy, Broadway Producer and Manager for Katherine Cornell), where she enclosed a letter from Fitzroy Davis to her, which he wrote only a couple months before he died in 1980. Really cool set! Condition: Some stains and other signs of age. Old books have wear commensurate to age, including, potentially, age stains, chipping, edge wear, dings, fraying, stray marks, minor old book odor, and the like. Check photos for condition. What you see is what you get :)
