Jewelry gift box included this cuff is made with orange spiny oyster which is found in the Sea of Cortez, as are red and purple spiny oyster (all 3 found naturally including variations of these 3 basic colors). Mediterranean red coral is in fact red only, and it is much more rare and carefully controlled in these times because we are killing our coral reefs through climate change and ocean warming. Spiny Oyster is still very plentiful and inexpensive when it is compared to Med. red coral which now commands an exorbitant price per gram.
