This motor is ideal for a heavy Z axis where ball screw transmissions are used causing the axis to lower when the motor has no "holding torque" from the controller being turned off. They are also ideal for where you want to make sure your steppers never lose position when your controller is off, and the robot's axis are slightly hit, or bumped in high traffic shop environments.
