Includes a miraculous Japanese edition bonus track! Pink Floyd vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour's first solo album in nine years. A Japanese edition bonus track, which has never been possible in Pink Floyd's history, will be miraculously included (CD)! The album was recorded in Brighton and London over five months, and is the first album of all new songs since "Flight" released in 2015. Produced by David Gilmour and Charlie Andrew (who also produces the Mercury Prize-winning indie band ALT-J), the album includes eight new songs as well as a remake of The Montgolfier Brothers' "Between Two Points." The artwork was done by Anton Corbijn. Musicians who participated include bassist Guy Pratt (who has participated in Pink Floyd's recordings and tours since 1987), keyboardist Roger Eno (brother of Brian Eno), legendary drummer Steve Gadd, and Gilmour's son and daughter. The title track also features the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright. The British magazine UNCUT described it as a powerful new work inspired by the impending death, and the theme throughout is that while accepting the inevitability of death, life is full of strange twists and turns that are not just good luck or strangeness. (The Japanese version of the imported version is a limited edition orange color vinyl. The Japanese version uses the orange color that is only used for overseas indie exclusives.)
