Description: This is a New South Wales Registered Postal Stationery sent from Sydney, New South Wales to Bermuda in 1888. It was sent to Major Evans, the man who would later go on to run Stanley Gibbons, at Boar Island, Bermuda. It also has a backstamp and the VERY RARE INLAND ISLAND Bermuda (Mar 12) in transit marked Via Brindisi, with a London Transit dated 21 Feb. Lots of very rare an interesting postal marks. The Postage was a top marginal New South Wales 5d stamp and a pair of 1 Shilling Stamps. These are SG 219c and 220ba respectively. This is a must-have Marvelous and very rare cover with extra philatelic interest (Major Evans).
