nice clean 6" Stanley No 18 wood T bevel w/ thumbscrew lock & divided blade

Description: You are bidding on one Stanley Number 18 T bevel as pictured.It is marked with "No 18 STANLEY" in the notched rectangle logo on one side of the handle, and with "MADE IN USA" in the notched rectangle logo on the other side. Actual overall length of the blade is about 5-13/16". The blade is unusual in that it is divided with 2 slots. The handle is about 5-1/16" in length, which is the same length as is typically found on 8" bevel handles, but Stanley used the longer handles with the divided blades. It does not have a nickeled finish on the handle, and has a blued finish on the blade. Condition is very good. It is reasonably bright and clean, with some modest patina (color) on the handle, with some scuffs and scratches in the blueing on the blade, and there is a bow in the blade. The lock operates smoothly, and the blade is a bit sticky going in and out of the handle. SHIPPING: Under 1 pound, shipped in a padded envelope, shipped USPS Ground Advantage, insurance is included. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location.
