Description: I believe this to be a North African Axe or Hoe. It consists of a wood handle with a metal TANG inserted through a hole at the top rounded end. I don't know if it was used as a tool, was ceremonial, or a souvenir item. The total length is about 12" and the metal tang is 6" long. The handle is 1/2" thick, except for the top 3" slightly wider. The handle has been carved and stained into "diamond" shapes. The black stain is between the 2 pics shown. It is in good condition. NB: I also have 2 African sickle-shaped knives; all were originally purchased together.
