Description: Vintage Prewar Track Bicycle NOS Wippermann Red Star 1" Pitch Skip Tooth Chain This is a New Old Stock (NOS)( Unused) Wippermann Red Star Skip Tooth Track Racing Chain. Red Star was considered one of the better Track Chains of the times, Boasting a 1000 kilogram breaking load. This is a Full size 57" NOS Wippermann 3/16" wide Chain in the Original Box with Master link. 57" is long, typical Track bikes use around 51"-54" that some extra of a rare chain. The Chain is old standard Skip tooth or 1 inch Pitch and will only fit skip tooth sprockets. I am unsure the date of this but I would place it in the 1930s, I got it in a batch of Schwinn Paramount Track & other Pista Fixed Gear racing parts from the 1930s. Wippermann is a German company and the packaging is in German and English and reads Wippermann Chrome-Nickel-Steel White Star Cycle Chain. New Old Stock, In the Box, Rare find, Can Show age, has a hew links with Rust, old grease, dust, dirt, slight rust, from long shelf life. Comes as Shown, Check Photos. Could use a Cleaning & Detail.
