Description: Northwest Africa 2999 Up for bid is a specimen of the very rare meteorite, Northwest Africa 2999! The Northwest Africa 2999 meteorite was found in 2004. This meteorite is classified as a very rare ANGRITE and was hypothesized to be from a planetary body like Mercury (Irving et al., 2005). This is a genuine meteorite specimen consisting of part slice weighing approx. 0.314 grams and housed in a 1" round gem jar. This specimen was obtained from the Hupé Collection and will come with the original ID card. The specimen will also come with an ID card stating it is from my collection, that serves as my personal certificate of authenticity.
