Description: Here is an old cabinet card photo of a group of people, with a man on each end holding what looks like a paddle from a boat. There are 2 other men and 5 women. They all seem to be standing at the edge of a cement wall, with a little building in back of them and a bigger building in back of that. On the other side is a fence, a tall tree, another roof and what looks like other greenery. In back of the first man and the woman in the line is a sign with just the number 10 on it. On the back of the photo is written Mr. H. McGinnis & Party Summer - 1907. The photo is stamped by the photographer, William T. Crouse, Photographer, of E. York St. Phila. On a map it looks like E. York Street runs from N. Front Street to Richmond Street, Richmond Street is in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia. Don't know if that means the photo was taken near there or if just the photographer was from there. Perhaps Mr. McGinnis gave boat tours and that's why they are holding paddles or oars? The end of the photo is torn from the cardboard backing but looks like all the people are showing in the photo. It does have marks on it and is somewhat faded. The cardboard has some rough edges and corners. The writing is on the back and there is some discoloration on the back. Interesting old photo would make a great research project.
