Description: 3x5 Foot Flag of Saint Helena - 1874 to 1984 The Flag of Saint Helena is a Blue Ensign, i.e., blue with the flag of the UK in the upper quadrant and the Saint Helena shield on the outer half of the flag. The coat of arms of Saint Helena features a rocky coastline and three-masted sailing ship. This is the pre-1984 version without the Saint Helena Plover at the top of the shield. Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha is a British overseas territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean consisting of the island of Saint Helena, Ascension Island and the island group called Tristan da Cunha. It was previously known as Saint Helena and Dependencies until 1 September 2009, when a new constitution came into force giving the three islands equal status within the territory. Saint Helena became internationally known as the British government's chosen place of exile of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was detained on the island from October 1815 until his death on 5 May 1821. Tristan da Cunha and Ascension Island do not use this flag. Brilliant colors Durable polyester fabric 2 Grommets for flagpole attachment Hemmed edges U.S. Bidders and Shipping Only.
