Directly underneath the portrait is the wording "one-dollar"and "in silver payable to the bearer on demand". In each corner on the front of the bill is a number one, and on the top corners it includes the word "one" as well. The top of the silver certificate states "this certifies that there is on demand deposit in the treasury of the United States of America."
