About these stamps: In 1992, the United States and Russia jointly collaborated and issued stamps to feature the most important achievements of the space program. Identical in design, the US stamps were issued at 29c and the Russian stamps were 25 rubles. The stamps were designed by Robert McCall of Arizona and Vladimir Beilin of Russia. This pane of United States stamps shows 4 scenes. The stamp on the upper left features a cosmonaut and the US space shuttle. The stamp below shows an Apollo module. The upper right stamp portrays a US astronaut with the Russian space station. The lower right stamp shows a Soyuz module. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This pane of stamps has been designated as Scott Number 2634a.
