It is drawn on a scale of 110 English statute miles to the inch, and details include railroads, principal steamship routes, submarine telegraph lines, lighthouses, battlefields, political boundaries, cities, and natural features. The image area measures 26.5 x 38 cm [10½" x 15"] and includes the islands of Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku as well as the peninsula of Chosen (Korea), with four insets: Japanese Sakhalin (Karafuto) North Extension of Kurile Islands Liu-Kiu Islands and Formosa (Taiwan) Bonin Islands and Sulphur Islands On the reverse side of the sheet there's a detailed index locating places in Chosen (Korea) and Japan.
