Description: Get M1 For The Roadâ„¢Here at 'Get M1 For The Road', we're big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is an ISRAELI "Kasdah" helmet (which is based on the iconic American M1) from the 1970's. Further details are listed below:Intelligence Brief: I've had the liner (hardhat) and shell (lid/steel pot) for a while, but I'm trying to trim the fat a little. I'm selling them both together as a set and I'm pretty sure that's how I bought them - way back when. The helmet is in good shape and there's nothing broken (like the webbing, rim, or bails/loops). There is noticeable scratching and chipping to the shell's paint which you can see in the pics. It's 'been there', so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds. This helmet is complete (aside from the missing chin strap), but it DOES have a few issues. Without further ado, here are all of the particulars: ----OPERATIONAL SPECIFICS----Liner SitRep: This one is a green vinyl version made in the 70's, but I can't find the actual year on it. This guy was made by the Tama company and they put their marks on the underside of the brim and the inside of the crown. There is an ink stamp on the inside of the crown (12773) and my research leads me to believe that the '77' indicates the year. The 'A washers' have a little tarnish, but the suspension isn't ripped at all. The leather headband is also in good shape. Oddly, the weave is different than that of the suspension. It may not be Israeli, OR it may just be an older IDF band. I couldn't find any markings on it. (Keep in mind that for many years, Israel bought M1s and their parts from as many countries as they could.)Shell SitRep: This model has the three bails/loops but is missing the 3-point chin strap. The cool thing about this guy is that it's an AMERICAN Vietnam War era shell that had Israeli loops added. The maker is the Parish Division of the Dana Corp and was produced between 10/68 & 8/69. The heat number is 6542. At some point it was repainted, but that's not at all uncommon. There are no dents, but there is a tiny hole above one of the loops. You can see it in the fourth pic. This guy's been through some stuff, no doubt. I can't say for SURE that it was used in battle (in the Vietnam or Israeli wars), but it definitely COULD have been.FINAL NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in particular.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require. I'm here to QUICKLY sell stuff, not to get top dollar. It never hurts to inquire about ANY listing(s), just keep in mind that someone else may buy it up in the time it takes for me to get back to you.
