The matte finish is still in pretty good shape. The caps have the correct feather clips which replaced the Blue Diamond clip 1948. No date code on the pen(correct). 1953 date code on the pencil. The pencil also retains most of the eraser. It has lead in the chamber and operates well. Name of previous owner engraved on the barrels of both instruments. Nice user set in nice condition.
