Poehlmann, a highly regarded inventor and aerospace engineer with some 20 patents for locking folding knives. The Paul knife is one of the most unique folding knives as it features a unique axial-locking mechanism. You can open and close the blade by squeezing the locking button and rotating your thumb and finger. The original run of 77,000 knives were made between 1979 and 1986 and a "Series II" of 23,000 were made in 1996. This knife is from the 2nd year of production (1980) and it differs from the first year models mainly in the location of the etchings on the blade and handle. All components are precision made from aircraft quality high-carbon, hardened stainless steel. The Paul knife features a 2.5" drop point blade and has a satin finished stainless handle with an inlay of rare Cocobolo hardwood. _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
