Description: Peru: Medal of the Association of Victors of the Military Campaign of 1941. Scarce unofficial, uniface, nickel/chrome-plated bronze and enamel medal, 47 mm diameter, issued to veterans of the short, but bitter Second Ecuadorian–Peruvian War, July 5-31, 1941. The conflict was the result on a longstanding border dispute over the Ecuadorian province of El Oro. A treaty between Peru and Ecuador established a demilitarized zone that included observers from the United States, Brazil and Argentina. The medal is in near extremely fine condition; on what appears to be the original ribbon of the Peruvian national colors.
