During the Inca Culture this type of weapons were used during hand to hand battles.This piece comes from the town of Colquemarca - Rural town near the city of Cusco peru. Boleadoras; they were deadly when whirled from leather straps. Boleadoras were mostly used for catching prey. Most boleadoras had three strings, on each string there was a head usually made from obsidian or solid Andean stone.
