This REMASTERED DVD is sourced directly from the original high quality Japanese only imported LaserDisc to DVD for the first time ever! Quality is unmatched as it transferred from the long since deleted LaserDisc from OVER THIRTY years ago. Background: This concert / documentary was issued on the VHS format in UK, Europe and the USA. The only LaserDisc release was a Japanese laserdisc which this REMASTERED DVD comes from. To this day the LaserDisc of this rare version of the concert never made it (in it's original form) to DVD until NOW! So here it is for the first time ever on DVD for all the Peter Gabriel Fans is the ORIGINAL Version of "PoV". Description: This series of concerts recorded and shot over three nights at the Hilltop Lycabettus Theatre in Athens, Greece, in October 1987 are the final performances of Peter Gabriel’s 'This Way Up' tour, that kicked off nearly 12 long months previously, promoting the album 'So'. The show captured in Athens would emerge three years later in 1990 on VHS and a rare Japanese only release on LaserDisc as the film "PoV", that featured intercut 8mm footage shot by Gabriel himself of life on the road, in the recording studio, and at home. However, the footage of the concert itself was finally reedited and released in 2013 in its complete form on DVD. It included the opening act and did NOT include the intercut 8mm movies. The 2013 version was entitled “Peter Gabriel Including Youssou N'Dour And Le Super Etoile De Dakar –Live In Athens 1987 (The Full Recorded Show)”. "Live in Athens 1987" was a newer version of these performances with reedited footage and a full show including the opening act presented on the 2013 DVD release. The 1990 version (exclusively released on LaserDisc exclusively in Japan) that included the intercut with 8mm footage Peter shot in the original version of "PoV" was removed. This particular 1990 version of this historic concert in it's original form (with the 8mm footage Peter shot) was never released on DVD until now.
