Description: Philco Corporation original magazine ad from 1941 ESQUIRE magazine. Titled: KEEP 'EM FRYING!, it shows the WWII leaders in a frying pan, over a fire held by a hand that appears to be Uncle Sam. Great illustration by SID HIX. Copy in box under illustration says: This interpretation by Sid Hix of America's will to win is one of a series being drawn for Philco by America's leading editorial cartoonists. They are being posted before Philco's soldiers of industry as an expression of their spirit and a reminder of the glorious purpose of their work. The ad copy says: On the industrial battlefield today, Philco is carrying on the fight in the field of electronics. The brains and ingenuity of its research engineers, which have contributed so much to the entertainment, comfort and convenience of America, are now devoted to the task of making America strong...and victorious. At the time this ad ran, you could request a full size reproduction of the original drawing by Sid Hix. Imagine what they would be worth today... The ad page is in very good condition. The edges were trimmed to eliminate some roughness. Opposite side features a full-page ad for Swan soap. The page measures 9 3/4" x 13". I'll place the page inside a plastic sleeve and add a piece of white foam board for protection while mailing by USPS First Class in a bubble envelope. I'll mail the same day, or next day after PayPal payment is received. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's FREE Counter
