Miniature (see photo for more details). Here we have an attractive and interesting 'pink' colored amethyst crystal quartz geode from a relatively new find in Argentina. 'Pink' Amethyst gets its pink color tones from inclusions of hematite and iron. Commonly mistaken for Rose Quartz (which rarely comes in point form or geode form) rose quartz's pink color instead comes from manganese titanium and/or iron inclusions. A chemical analysis of Pink Amethyst from the mine's founder has stated: The crystals are purplish pink amethystine quartz additionally colored by microscopic hematite particles. They are not rose quartz or pink quartz as classically defined. Numerous micro-inclusions of calcium sulphate also occur in the interior of the quartz crystals. The crystals are otherwise well formed and sharp and are gemmy along with a glassy luster. Photography All of our photos are taken with a 75Watt GE True White incandescent bulb.
