Poison Idea - Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes 1st press 1984 LTD 1000

Description: You are buying a used/play tested Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes E.P. by Poison Idea. Their second EP released one year after the classic Pick Your King (check out the backside of RCAPA to see who Poison Idea picked!). Unfortunately, there is some misinformation about this release so I will be specific. This is an original 1984 first pressing on black vinyl and was limited to 1,000 copies. At the same time there was 1,000 red vinyl records pressed and both are considered first pressings. Both were released at the tail end of 1984 even though many sites list the release as 1985. Notice the "recorded August 14, 18 1984" part. Hardcore punk bands were not waiting 6+ months to release a small batch of records at the height of vinyl, also there are contemporary accounts of this record. After this Poison Idea would incorporate more rock elements and while their sound became more identifiable there is something great about those pissed off early years ya know. There is a bootleg version of this record floating around, however there are many indicators (typeface, record label, barcode) to show that this is clearly an original. Furthermore, the boot is known for terrible sound quality being cut so bad half the people who own it claims it throws their stylus off. The condition of this copy is listed as VG/VG, with several stress creases, scratches, and no lyric sheet. Keep in mind this is a 40 year old punk record, which wasn't a hot seller and probably owned by some crust punks who partied with cheap gear. To expect to find a near mint copy is something of a dream. The good news is I have spun this record many times. It is loud and angry like you'd hope. The 45 RPM just plows through any defects and I'm sure if you'd give it a good cleaning it would sound even clearer. That said I never had any issues blasting this bastard the way it is. Yes, I know the price is high but the demand for these old punk gems are only growing. If this was their first EP it would cost several times more and I think RCAPA is just as good. Item will be shipped in a record mailer with a plastic sleeve (record outside jacket) to prevent seam splits and "fragile" stickers. Considering the high price this goes for I will make extra sure it is packaged securely and you may have to sign for delivery (this prevents porch theft and dropped/stepped on packages).
