Description: Up for Auction is a Pre Columbian Olmec seated jade figure. The deeply drilled eyes may have once held shell inlays. Both ears are drilled on each side with a perforation which meets in the middle. Sitting upright, the arms are folded into the chest with finely engraved fingers. This three dimensional carving has detailed feet engraved underneath. 5 1/2" height x 2 3/4" width. Provenance: Anne and Richard Sharpe collection, Norwich, Connecticut, from the 1960s – 1970s.
