Description: Here we have an early ERIE #9 cast iron skillet made by the Griswold Manufacturing Company in Erie PA. The bottom is relatively nice, Does have some water etching that looks worse than it feels. I tried to take photos that made it look as bad as possible. The cooking surface is very smooth. Does have some casting pits on the sidewalls as shown. These won't hinder cooking at all. There is a casting flaw on the under side of the handle, this is NOT a repair. This is a nice early example of a classic american made cast iron skillet. Has a VERY small side to side tick on our glass top but I would use this with confidence on glass, coil electric or gas. Has been electrolysis cleaned and seasoned one time with my own blend of all natural Pennsylvania beeswax, crisco and olive oil. I also wiped it down with food grade mineral oil to prevent flash rust due to the humidity. Will be securely packed to ensure safe delivery.
